Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand.  Wellington is a picture perfect city. It is set between a magnificent harbour and rolling green hills. It is also a compact city where funky shops, exciting galleries and great restaurants are within easy walking distance.

cable car wellington The Cable Car This is one of Wellingtons oldest and most popular tourist attractions.  The cable car journeys up under the motorway, through the three tunnels, past Kelburn Park and Victoria University and on to the top entrance of the city's Botanic Garden.
wellington waterfront Wellington Waterfront is definitely the jewel in the city's crown. Separating central city from sea, the Waterfront is home to a vibrant, ever-changing atmosphere.
  Climate
Skiing Seasons are opposite to the Northern Hemisphere, with January and February the warmest months and July the coldest. Although Wellington has a cooler climate in the winter, it is blessed with wonderful sunny clear days, allowing for many outdoor opportunities during all four seasons. Winter is the time to head for the ski slopes, to enjoy the snow.
Wellington has a greater number of sunshine hours, and less rain, than Auckland and is one of the most climatically blessed areas in the country. Temperature averages 20.3°C (68.5°F) in summer and 11.2°C (52.2°F) in winter, with around 1200mm of rain falling annually.

Cyber Internet Café, Shop 3, Midcity Centre, 18 Manners St. telephone: (04) 384 7847 , provides fast Internet access in a multi-language setup. Open Sunday through Thursday from 10am to 11pm, Friday and Saturday from 10am to 1am.

Newspapers Wel lington's morning newspaper, the Dominion, and evening paper, the Evening Post, are both published Monday through Saturday. On Sundays, get the best paper in the country, the Sunday Star Times. Overseas newspapers are sometimes available at newsstands and in the reading room of the National Library, Molesworth Street.
